The Nickelodeon Channel will “go black” for several hours on September 24th to encourage families to make time for play. We will host a “Let’s Just Play” event at The Adventure Playground at Deane’s Children’s Park as a part of being a “Playful City, USA”. Call 275.7609 to reserve your spot.<br /> <br /> Hot Spot Basketball Competition<br /> <br /> The Annual Hot Spot Basketball is a basketball skills competition which involves shooting from five “Hot Spots” marked on a basketball court. The competition tests young athletes’ all-around skill within a series of one-minute rounds. The youth with the highest score is declared the winner within their age bracket. The event is open to boys and girls ages 7 – 14. Participants that win the local competition qualify to participate in the State event!<br /> <br /> St. Patrick’s Day Senior Lunch<br /> <br /> Join us for a “bit of the blarney” as we celebrate this Irish holiday. Be sure to wear your green, or you’re sure to be pinched! Corned beef and cabbage lunch will be served at noon. Reservations required. Call 275.7609 to reserve your spot. Transportation will be available.<br /> <br /> Spring Eggs-travaganza! (Donations NEEDED!)<br /> <br /> Lil’ Ones Egg Hunt Hop on over to Mercerdale Park for the annual Eggstravaganza Egg hunt just for the little ones! Our resident BunnyFrog has been hard at work putting together eggs, candy, and prizes for everyone and plans to make a special visit to the egg hunts to say “hello”. Bring a basket and your sweet tooth and get ready to hunt for goodies. Find a golden egg for an “eggstra” special surprise. A separate section will be reserved for the 1 to 3 year old hunters.Please, no children over the age of 6, NO Parents on the field!<br /> <br /> Flashlight Egg Hunt (Donations NEEDED!)<br /> <br /> That’s right! This one is done in the dark and was created exclusively for older kids! Bring your flashlight and a basket to haul off your loot. Lots of eggs, candy and prizes for everyone. Find the golden egg during our Eggs-travaganza for an “eggstra” special surprise. NO Parents on the field!
