During the first few days of registration, we assign numbers to process registrations in the order in which they are received. You will be notified as soon as possible if you are closed out of a class or if we have any questions. Credit cards are NOT charged until we confirm class openings and total amount to charge. Confirmations are NOT mailed —assume you are registered unless notified differently by the office. Learn to Skate Classes: registration begins Septem-ber 4; see page 21 Mail it in—beginning August 27 Registration form with payment may be mailed to: Rocky River Recreation, 21016 Hilliard Blvd. 44116 Fax it in—beginning August 27 Must include credit card information and signature of parent/ guardian. You may register as soon as you receive your brochure for Adult classes only. • • • • CONFIRMATIONS, CANCELLATIONS, LOCATION CHANGES : All programs are subject to change in location, dates, times, and/or personnel. Every effort will be made to notify participants of such changes. Classes that have not met the minimum number of required participants may be cancelled. The Recreation Dept. reserves the right to terminate a session at less than the scheduled number of dates. RESIDENT POLICY : To qualify as a Resident, the participant in the class must maintain legal residence in the City of Rocky River or the section of Fairview Park that is considered Rocky River School District. Proof of residency may be requested at time of registration or before 1st class. LATE REGISTRATIONS: class fees will not be pro-rated unless unusual circumstances—depends on several factors and are subject to approval by a Supervisor. ADULT CLASSES: Must be at least 18 years or older and out of High School for Adult Classes, unless stated otherwise; most Fitness classes permit ages 15 years and older. INSTRUCTORS are not permitted to accept registrations unless previously approved by the Office. LIABILITY : No liability is assumed by the Rocky River Recreation Dept. or its sponsors in the event of accident or loss of personal property. Parent or guardian’s signature required for all minors. SPECIAL ACCOMMODATIONS: If you require special accommodations to attend or participate in a Recreation program or activity, please contact us so that we can make reasonable arrangements. REFUND POLICY • If a program is cancelled by the Department, a refund for the • full amount will be given or applied to your Recreation De-partment Customer Account. In the event you must cancel, participants must submit their refund request in writing NO LATER THAN 5 DAYS prior to the first day of a program. Approved refunds will be subject to a minimum $10 administrative or a 10% fee (whichever is greater) that will be deducted from the original amount paid. Recreation Dept. Customer Account : if the customer elects to have the refund posted to his/her Recreation account, a credit for the full amount that was paid will be issued (if re-quested no later than 5 days before class). The credited amount may be used for most class registrations, member-ships or pool passes. Refunds/Credits will not be given if requested less than 5 days prior to the first session. Individuals assume the risk of changes in health or personal schedules. Exception— Preschool Classes, Learn to Swim Classes : children who refuse to participate due to immaturity, separation anxiety, or fear of the water may request a CREDIT to their Recreation Department customer account after the first class. The credit will be pro-rated to reflect the 1 class attended. No credit after attending the 2nd class. Certain programs offered by Independent Contractors and summer Day Camp have a different refund policy, listed in their program description. Memberships/Pool Passes are non-refundable and non-transferable. Please Remember: • Preschool & Youth Classes: No phone-ins— we need a signed waiver for all preschool and student registrations • Visa, MasterCard & Discover card are accepted. • Make checks payable to “City of Rocky River.” • Separate checks required for : Learn to Skate classes NON-RESIDENTS: The beginning registration date for each program for non-residents is listed next to the non-resident fee; if none listed, you may register beginning TUESDAY AUGUST 28. DEADLINES: Registration is on-going, but some classes have a specific ending registration date. Most classes/programs have a minimum and maximum number of participants. Registration dead-lines do not guarantee a spot in the class—some fill up BEFORE the stated deadline. You are encouraged to register early. WAIT LISTS will be created if and when a class reaches full enrollment or after the deadline. If space becomes available, individuals on the wait list will be called. In the event of changes or cancellations, every effort will be made to contact participants and reschedule programs.<br /> <br /> • Snow days: If school is cancelled due to snow or other emergency, classes will be cancelled that are held in the schools. Classes held at the Ice Rink or Civic Center will try to meet as scheduled.<br /> <br /> Rocky River BEAUTIFICATION COMMITTEE<br /> <br /> Is looking for new members and would like to invite you to attend our meetings, held on the second Wednesday of each month at 7:00pm at the Civic Center.
