First Time Campers

Some campers attend Eagle Hill for the first time when they are young and continue through the program year after year. Other campers come for the first time when they are twelve, fourteen, or even sixteen years old. Whatever the age, first time campers become quickly entrenched in camp life at Eagle Hill, making new friends, having fun, and learning new skills.

Camp Eagle Hill has a moderately sized population, large enough to provide a varied activity program, yet small enough to maintain a family-like atmosphere. Small groups of seven to eight campers with two counselors provide the opportunity for campers to become comfortable and develop friendships more easily. Daily personal involvement with the Directors enhances each camper’s experience, especially for first time campers.

Getting Comfortable

Establishing a relationship with parents prior to camp is an important part of our success. We encourage you to get to know us personally. We host visitors throughout the year at camp and encourage this as an option for those interested families. In many cases, we can arrange to make a home visit. Our website is a good resource for continuous information and news. We welcome your e-mail or phone calls at any time with any questions that you may have.

Why Eagle Hill Is Special

When your child attends Eagle Hill, they are experiencing more than just a few weeks vacation with great activities and facilities. Camp changes children. It helps them build valuable tools such as self esteem and independence. While with us at camp, they will also learn patience, understanding and teamwork. Children at our camp are free to be themselves and are accepted as individuals. There are few opportunities in life that can offer children the benefits they gain from being at Camp Eagle Hill.

Eagle Hill is... A place to laugh, a place to share, a place to grow.

Philosophy

Camp is a place where every child can succeed in his or her own individual way. Eagle Hill is a place that provides opportunities for this success. We want each child to leave at the end of the summer having made lasting friendships and having learned positive values; building blocks that we know will help to form the foundation of a lifetime of happiness.

Staff

Our camp staff is comprised of a combination of experienced adult professionals and reliable, enthusiastic counselors. All staff members are hired for their warm and caring personalities and their ability to provide an excellent level of supervision to our campers. Some staff members are instructors and teach skills in a wide variety of activity areas.

Our group size is small, typically seven to eight children in a group. Counselors live with each group, supervising campers and guiding them through a full camp day.

Each day is packed with both action and time for relaxed, simple pleasures. Rain or shine, our tremendous number of activity areas and large indoor spaces keep the fungoing all the time, every day.

Our main focus is fun and the development of skills, all accomplished through positive participation and achieved in a safe, comfortable setting.

Program

Camp fun starts when campers are involved in exciting and challenging activities.

The typical Eagle Hill day is comprised of six periods, each less than an hour in length. The day blends group programmed activity with an extensive individual choice program.

Trips

Throughout the summer, each group goes out of camp on weekly trips to local attractions like Howe Caverns, Six Flags Amusement Park, or Bash Bish Falls.

Older campers take a three day trip each summer to Philadelphia or Boston. Our oldest campers and CITs take an eight day trip each summer through Canada and Niagara Falls or Baltimore, Washington D.C., and Virginia.

Evening Activities

Every camp day is capped off with an exciting evening program (i. e. Talent Shows, DJ Parties, and Campouts) which creates a tremendous sense of tradition and camaraderie. Evenings typically end with a visit to the Eagle Hill Sweet Shoppe for refreshments and music.
